Today, I discovered a new song. The release date was the 16th, so I'm a little late here, but oh well.
The song is Lost by Glory Hill (J-Pop) and I love it so much. The voice, the music, ah!
I don't know why, but this song just made me remember another Japanese band, naifu. I'll post a video of one of their songs as well.
I hope you like this song as much as I do. It really is great.
And here's the bonus video, as I promised.
Naifu - Take the Wave
That's all for today. I'm gonna skip the weekly random music reviews for now. And there's gonna be a bit of a change. I don't like writing down every single thing about them, so I"m going to rate them with x's.
x - heck no
xx - my ears aren't bleeding
xxx - not bad
xxxx - heck yes!
xxxxx - how did I live without this song???
I haven't been posting much here lately, and I'm failing at life by not doing so. But I actually haven't had internet for quite a while because my wifi signal randomly disappeared.
Anyway, I'm going to be doing this new thing where I turn on my mp3 player and choose 10 random songs to review. I'll never review the same song in two posts. If I come across the same song, I'll just choose another. I originally did this on my very first blog 'TheCloudLikeDream' but that one's a random/diary blog now, since I'm too sentimental to get rid of it. So, on to the reviews.
By the way, this will be a regular Saturday post.
1. 37.0 by Yaida Hitomi
This is off the Death Note 2 Movie Soundtrack (thing), which is probably the only reason I know about this song. Her voice is really different than what I usually hear from female Japanese singers. It's kind of nasally, but not in a bad way. The song itself is just so relaxing, even after it picks up the pace (music wise). It's really obvious she puts in a lot of emotion when she sings the song.
2. Fight Inside - RED
RED is one of my favorite American Bands. They are listed as 'Christian Rock' so some of the people who know I'm Pagan look at me like I'm crazy for listening to them. As long as their religion is not being thrown in my face, I don't care. Anyway, the lyrics are really meaningful and deep. That combined with their super talent just makes this song amazing. There's a ballad version of this song as well, but it's called 'Nothing and Everything' (I think).
3. Isshun no Chiri - Aqua Timez
This is a fairly old song by them. It's got a really long intro that I'm not really fond of. It sounds nice, but if the song itself is not completely instrumental, I don't like to listen to a long intro to get to the lyrics. I'm just impatient. Futoshi shows off his rapping skills, but at one point in the second verse the rapping sounds a little dull, not as energetic. There's even a part where the rap is in English (really good English). I don't know who's rapping, but it's not Futoshi. It's a really good song though.
4. Madan ~ Der Freischutz - TM Revolution
I really really love this song. It's so different than other jpop/jrock songs that I normally listen to. There is never a dull moment in this song. It's energetic and catchy. Takanori has a really unusual voice (that I LOVE). He uses his voice in a very odd way. He kind of let's it swing, but he can control it. This, by the way, is very hard to do. Well, doing it is easy, but making it sound good is kind of difficult. The song has a funky sound that is really really cool. The version I gave you above is live, so it's not going to be perfect, but he's still awesome.
5. Photosynthesis - Core of Soul
YouTube didn't have a video of this song available that I could immediately find, which is pretty odd, but ok. Nakamura (vocals) voice is really pretty and her English sounds really good, but at times her voice sounds a bit shrill and uncontrolled. The instruments don't really do the song much justice. The music sounds a little too 'hard' for the vocals. It's an okay song, but it just lacks control and focus to me.
6. Super Delicate - Hey!Say!Jump!
This is an okay song, but not amazing. They've got the whole 'cute boyband' thing going on in this song. The song is really relaxing and cute, which I like. But it's not a song I can listen to over and over without getting sick of it. To me, it seems to lack that emotional feel of it.
7. For Your Entertainment - Adam Lambert
First of all, don't judge. I love this guy's music. This is a kind of...sexual song. Actually, it's really sexual. But it's not really overbearing. I'm one of those people that cannot just sit and listen to a lecture about sex, so if I can handle this, it can't be that bad. It's really catchy and upbeat. I don't know why, but the word 'cute' comes to mind listening to this. That word has no reason to be popping up!!! But I still love this song.
8. Beat It - Fall Out Boy
This is a cover of Michael Jackson's song 'Beat It.' They did an okay job on this, but the original will always be best. One reason I don't really like this very much is the fact that the singer doesn't know how to end the freaking words! 'Run while you ca' 'macho ma'. It's really annoying. It would be really really good and I'd like it more if I could hear the end of all their words.
9. Lacrimosa - Kalafina
I absolutely love this song. These three girls are soooo talented and their voices are just lovely, especially live. The song is relaxing and different and their voices blend together so well. I also like that the second time around (after the second verse) it doesn't go back to the chorus, but changes. It's so intense and beautiful.
10. Lucifer - SHINee
This was the song that really got me loving SHINee. It's really intense and cool. I love the video and the dance. I know it sounds really monotone, but the heart is in the harmonies. It's actually harder to stay on one or two pitches than it is to move around a lot. When staying on one pitch, it's really easy to go flat (trust me). But even though the chorus tends to stay on one note the whole way with a few harmonies, it's just so fun to listen to. I can listen to this all day!
That's it for this week's random reviews. Just for fun (and because it sounds so cool) here's the rock version of Lucifer. It's only in a live version, but it's still awesome and it features f(x)!
I don't know why they put the guy in a cage, but it's hot. If you're a guy reading this (which I doubt, but comment if you are), but it's true.
That's all for today. Comment below, anonymous comments are allowed.
This is a jpop song by the duo TVXQ. I've loved them since they were a group of 5. I've noticed, since they split, TVXQ has more intense/hard/rocker music while the other three (JYJ) are more about ballads and softer pop music.
Artist: TVXQ
Album: Tone
Released: Sep. 28, 2011 (Japan)
Language: Japanese
Label: Avex Trax
Producer: Masato Matsuura
Review:
I LOVE the video. It's an actiony MV with really good dancing (I've never seen them in a video with bad dancing). The lyrics are actually not too bad. Well, going by the translation from the link above. For all I know, it could mean something dirtier in Japanese and was just sugar coated for the non-Japanese speaking public. There's not as much melody to it as I normally like, but it really is intense.
I give it x x x x (that's as close as I have to stars....I'm lazy)
Here is another song that has somehow wormed its way onto my playlist. The first time I put in on my mp3 player, I wasn't too fond of it. But it turned out to be one of those songs that grew on me over time. So, here it is!
Trouble Maker by Trouble Maker
This was my face the first time I saw the music video.
It was so strange. I mean, they dance so close to each other! I should be used to it, since that's all American pop music is these days! Seriously. That's why I love foreign music so much. Even if it's perverted, I'm not gonna know until I find the translation! So don't expect much Lady Gaga or Katy Perry on here. I like Katy Perry, but I only love one song of hers and that would be E.T.
So, I hope you like this song, but if you don't...
I don't really have anything to review, but I have been listening to this song ALL DAY! I've been listening to it for a while, but since I lost my music, I've rediscovered it.
If you know this song, let me know what you think of it. If this is the first time you've heard this song, still, let me know what you think. :)
If anybody has any requests that are music related, let me know. I'm bored. :(
Who loves anime? Anyone? The Saiyuki (series?) is definately one of my favorites. They actually used to show it here on American TV (which I find very surprising). It definately has some...language, but it just adds to the humor. I've watched both the English and Japanese versions (dub-wise). I love all of the voice actors (seiyus).
Then, a while after finishing the series, I learned that the voice actors did an album for the show. O.O
I love all of the songs, but I'm going to share two, because I am lazy. You will all learn this over time...maybe.
1. Blow Winds - Sanzo, Gojyo, Goku (Toshihiko Seki <3, Hiroaki Hirata <3, and Soichiro Hoshi <3)
*Note: I'm not positive on whether it was Soichiro Hoshi or not. I'm 90% sure.
2. Shiny Moon - Sanzo, Gojyo, Goku
Like I said before, there are so many more, but these two just happen to be my favorite. It's kinda sad that Hakkai isn't in these two though. :(
Here is my totally winging it post that I've been putting off for so long now. :)
Welcome to my music blog! I'm not a pro music critic or anything, but I just love music. I don't care what language it's in, the genre, or anything like that. If it clicks with me in some way, I love it. ^^
